Greetings and Welcome to a new school year!! Your child will most likely be with me for all four core classes and go to P.E. and an exploratory class.
In Language Arts - We will be working with two programs: Read 180 and Systems 44. Home Learning in Language Arts will be reading for 20 minutes every night and logging the minutes on a reading log sheet by writing about what was read.
In Math - The students will be working on number patterns, linear equation, division with remainders, add, subtract, multiply and divide integers. There is a lot of multiplication in 6th grade math. Home Learning for Math will be working on multiplication tables. Please, drill the multiplication facts with your son or daughter when you can.
Social Studies - The students will have an opportunity to explore the ancient civilization; Eqypt, Greece, Rome, Chine, etc......We have a lot of fun lelarning about food, clothes, writing, laws, religion, language and culture of all the ancient civilizations. There is no Home Learning for Social Studies.
Science - The students have an opportunity to explore the Earth and Weathering and soil, Plate Tectonics, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Climate and many other earthly adventures! No Home Learing for Science.
